Sometimes it's good to be reminded of things we know

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all.
Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserve, but have never been able to reach.
Check the road and the nature of your battle.
The world you desire can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.

Same Old, Same Old

I'm starting to feel like I could endlessly recycle any posts I've made since January. Other than the weather, nothing much has changed. I'm still unemployed, applying for jobs, and trying various things to amuse and entertain myself so I don't go stark raving mad from boredom.
Maybe I should just set up a template for posts, and then set them to automatically post on certain days - blogging on automatic pilot?
I have been working on Plan Q, or possible answers to the question, "What if I don't find a job in the library field?" I can't afford (financially or emotionally) to let the job search drag on forever, so once I get back from LOEX (the library instruction conference), I'm going to start making plans for other options. I really need to have something in place by the end of June. That'll be 6 months since graduation. I'm open to thoughts, opinions, suggestions, etc.

I'm excited about LOEX, though. This will be my first library conference. I'm excited to learn more about library instruction. The more I read, the more topics I find to learn about. I've never been to Albuquerque, either, and I'm excited to get to go someplace new and different. A change of scenery will be refreshing.

So, recap of what I've been doing to entertain myself since my last post:

April Fool's Day wackiness
I made a jungle out of veggies for dinner that night.
Dessert was "hamburger" cookies made from Nilla wafers, peppermint patties, and strategically placed fruit rollups.
Craftiness
I made a hat for Melissa, but my niece loved it so much I had to make her one, too. This is the hat model.
Other Weirdness
The hat model decided to see how many cat toys she could put on Callie's side before Callie got tired of it. The record now stands at 23.
Spring
Trees are leafing out. I've seen early flowers blooming. The lilacs have flower buds.... Maybe in all the general renewal, I'll get a second wind as far as the job search goes. Either that, or I'll come up with something interesting for Plan Q... Time will tell.
